Dental Veneers are custom-crafted shells that cover the front of the teeth, they are made of materials like porcelain, emulating the color of the tooth.
A complete set of veneers provides a complete makeover as it improves any part of your smile, length, color, alignment…
It is important to understand that veneers are permanent and will replace your teeth for the rest of your life.
Step 1: Preview
Trial veneers can be formed and place in position
Allows the customer to have a preview on how the work will look like
Step 2: Teeth preparation
Eliminate tooth structure via polishing the teeth
A dental drill is used to perform the elimination
The goal is to eliminate as little as possible
Step 3: Creating the Veneers
Create a mold of your teeth and send to the laboratory
The laboratory will create the veneers
Usually takes up to five to seven business days to create the veneer
Patients wear temporary veneers while waiting for the final ones
Step 4: Bonding the veneer
After you and the dentist determine that the shape and color of the final veneer are right, your veneer can be bonded into place
The dentist will wash off and polish the surface of your tooth, to make sure it is ready
The surface of the tooth is etched
The etching gel is washed off and cement is applied on the tooth and inside the veneer
The veneer is put into the right place and the dentist will activate the bonding agent and cement by shining a light directly in the area
Step 5: Final step
If there is any excess cement the dentist will scrape it and floss it away
The bite will be evaluated to ensure that the placement of the veneer has not modified it
Do not smoke or drink alcohol for at least 3 days before your veneers treatment.
Brush and floss properly before your treatment and keep good oral hygiene the week before your treatment.
Initial extraction may take between ten to twenty minutes
Depending on the number of veneers, they could be constructed within seven to eight days
Bonding the veneers can take from forty minutes to two hours, depending on the veneer material (porcelain/composite)
You may have several fittings before considering the job finalized
You can resume normal activities right after the procedure
